Description:
A low, armless chair with a seat woven entirely by hand. The rope gives just enough to cradle you, which is what turns a simple frame into a chair you don't want to get out of. It's a UV stable polyester blend chosen to stay soft to the touch and hold its color in full sun. The frame is 100% recycled HDPE, a material that shrugs off what wrecks wood: nothing to crack, splinter, or rot, and no sanding or sealing every spring. Because the color is part of the material and not a coating on top, it stays true instead of fading or chalking. Ten summers in, it's still the same chair.

Each Rope Chair is built one at a time, and the weaving is done by hand from start to finish. Expect small differences in the pattern from chair to chair. That's the nature of the work, not a flaw in it.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and what you've ordered. These pieces are large and ship freight, so the cost varies more than it does with a small parcel.
When will I get my order?

Every piece is made by hand after you order it, so nothing ships from a shelf. Plan on 4 to 6 weeks from order to shipment, depending on what you've selected and where it falls in the queue. We'll be in touch when yours is on the way.
Product Care

Very little is required. Wash with soap and warm water, or a household cleaner if something's been sitting on it. A soft brush works on the textured surfaces and around the rope. Because the color is the plastic itself rather than a coating, you can scrub without worrying about wearing through a finish. Nothing needs sealing, oiling, or refinishing, ever. Deeper scratches can be sanded lightly and buffed back if you want them gone, though most people stop noticing them. Keep the piece away from open flame, grills, and fire pits — HDPE softens above roughly 185°F.
Where are your products made?

Everything we make is Michigan-made, start to finish. Our pieces are designed in Detroit and built by hand in our Leonard, Michigan shop. For the recycled HDPE line, the panels themselves come from a small manufacturer in Grand Rapids that presses them from post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste collected locally. Three cities, one state, no step of it offshore.
What is the return policy?

Every piece is built by hand to order, so we don't keep stock and can't restock a returned item. Because of that, all sales are final once production begins. You can cancel or change your order any time within 48 hours of purchase for a full refund — just email us.

If your piece arrives damaged, or isn't what you ordered, that's on us. Send photos within 7 days of delivery and we'll repair it, replace it, or refund it, and we'll cover return shipping. Our goal is for every customer to be satisfied with their purchase, so if something isn't right, tell us and we'll work with you to fix it.
